Like all great ideas, Smudge Publishing was once just a dream. Conjured up by our fearless Editor-in-Chief, Jonette George Wilton, and her two daughters, Daniele and Kaitlyn Wilton, the mission was simple: to create beautiful books that celebrate and showcase the abundance of produce, wine and culinary talent in Australia and beyond.
Now eight years on with a permanent team, as well as a wide network of freelance writers and photographers, Smudge Publishing is a collective of passionate individuals who strive to constantly unearth the best of the best in all things food-related.
The collection includes over 26 titles, including the award-winning Flavours of Sydney, which won Best Cookbook in the World at the International Book Awards, and Flavours of Melbourne, which has received two awards at the Independent Publishers Awards in New York City and been named the Best Culinary Travel Cookbook in Australia by the Gourmand World Cookbook awards.
With an evergrowing list of International titles including Flavours of Bali, Flavours of Hong Kong, and Flavours of Singapore, Smudge is now embarking on its first realease in the USA, Flavors of Pittsburg.
Smudge has also translated its coffee content into Mandarin and launched this book into China in September. As well as creating the latest Flavours of Australia book, Smudge is currently underway with the production of Wineries of Australia, due to be released in early 2018.
Two years into the distribution of its online magazine, Smudge Eats, is making waves in the culinary readership market.
